PROJECTS & PLATFORMS
Empowering SMN for their Academic Journey
SMN Road Map: The Blueprint Sessions
The Blueprint Sessions empowers students to navigate their academic and professional futures with clarity. The initiative provides a comprehensive guide to program milestones—including capstone, thesis work, internships, and board exams—while offering a dedicated Bridge Program liaison for transferees and irregular students. Complemented by a centralized FAQ resource, this project ensures every student has the tools and direct access needed to synchronize their curriculum and career goals.
Showcasing SMN's Academic Excellence and Promoting the Continuum of Academic Works
Thesis and Capstone Gallery: The Research Exchange
This initiative transforms senior research and thesis into an interactive, gallery-style showcase that bridges the gap between batches. By displaying high-quality research in a relaxed, booth-like setup, this event hopes to demystify the research process for younger students. Instead of seeing the research and thesis as an intimidating hurdle, they can see it as an attainable milestone, learning the "how-to" directly from the peers who have already succeeded. This "knowledge exchange" also gives our upperclassmen a professional platform to explain their work to a live audience. Beyond just academic recognition, the event fosters vertical integration and batch interaction—strengthening the bond between year levels and building a more connected, inspired SMN community.
Highlighting SMN's Future Entrepreneurs
Entrep Fair: The SMN Market
The SMN Market is a high-visibility campus launchpad for student-led businesses. In collaboration with the Dragon Business Club, this bazaar-style event serves as a "living laboratory" where students across all majors can transition their projects into the real world. By providing a strategic space for brand exposure, sales, and market testing, the initiative allows student-owners to gather vital peer feedback and refine their business models within a thriving SMN entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Providing Better Support Systems for Accountancy students
Accounting Circles
A peer-support network designed to humanize the rigorous BSA and BSMA experience. Moving beyond traditional lectures, this initiative fosters a collaborative community where students across all year levels exchange resources, sustainable study habits, and emotional support. By partnering with student leaders to curate social breaks and interactive activities, the project ensures a resilient support system that balances professional excellence with personal well-being.

When I heard that Jia would be running as SMN Representative, I immediately thought it was a great decision. I genuinely believe that if elected, she will do an excellent job in serving the community.
As I got to know her more during the trainings, I saw her dedication, openness to learning, and sincere desire to grow as a leader. It became clear that she does not take responsibilities lightly and is willing to put in the work to serve effectively. I've also heard how well she communicates her ideas, which gives me confidence that her platforms and projects will be clearly presented and truly beneficial to the entire SMN community.

Representative 2024-2025, SMN
Jia managed me during my first year on the Futsal Varsity team, and I can confidently say she fulfilled her role with excellence. Through her preparation and support, I was consistently able to perform at my best during games. Her presence at our weekend matches—even on Sundays—reflects her strong commitment to her role in the management team of the Futsal team.
In my second year, I had the opportunity to work with her in the Sports and Varsity Office—as the Chief Operations Officer—where I witnessed her work ethic firsthand. Jia remains calm under pressure, collaborates effectively, and never undermines others to achieve results. She stands out to me as a person who is compassionate, understanding, and works well in a team. I believe that she does not act for self-gain, but she is moved ultimately to purposely help those around her.

Leadership is not measured by how loudly one is heard, but by how carefully one listens, and by the thoughtfulness with which one chooses to act.
In the time I've known Jhirlymarie Tio, I have seen how she carries responsibility with a quiet steadiness and grace that puts others at ease. She takes the time to understand people and situations before moving forward, and when decisions must be made, she does so with clarity and conviction. Even in moments that call for firmness, she remains grounded and respectful, never losing sight of the people affected by her choices.
What distinguishes Jhirlymarie is her attentiveness to the bigger picture, an awareness that leadership is not only about responding to the present, but about shaping what follows. She leads without ego, approaches challenges with intention, and consistently chooses actions that reflect care, honesty, and a deep sense of responsibility to the School of Management.
